“We cannot rest until we’ve ended this destructive and unnecessary epidemic.”

Standing Against Asbestos
Every 13 Minutes, an American Dies from Asbestos-Related Diseases. This Crisis Is Preventable.
At Every13Minutes.org, we are dedicated to raising awareness about the deadly impact of asbestos exposure in the United States. Despite being banned in over 70 countries, asbestos remains legal in the U.S., resulting in 40,000 deaths each year from preventable diseases like lung cancer and mesothelioma.
Our mission is to educate the public, advocate for a complete ban on asbestos, and support those affected by its devastating effects. Since 2004, over 1 million Americans have lost their lives due to asbestos-related diseases—equivalent to the population of Dallas, Texas. Globally, asbestos kills 255,000 people each year. The time to act is now.
What We Do
• Raise Awareness: We inform the public about the ongoing risks of asbestos exposure.
• Advocate for Change: We support the Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now (ARBAN) Act, which seeks to ban asbestos in the U.S.
• Support Victims: We provide resources and a platform for those affected by asbestos-related diseases to share their stories.
